The service

The Koythu voice studio and API let you generate audio from a written script, in a voice, tone and language you choose, and optionally with a cloned voice you have consent to use. These terms apply to every use of the studio, the API and the accompanying website.

Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Sharing credentials between people is not permitted - invite them as workspace members instead.
• You are responsible for anything generated through your account, including any audio produced with a cloned voice you loaded into the account.
• You must be old enough to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction to use the studio.

What you may do with rendered audio

• Audio the studio renders for you can be used commercially, distributed, embedded in products, and played back in customer facing surfaces such as IVR menus, apps and videos.
• You retain ownership of the underlying scripts you write. Rendered audio is licensed to you for unlimited use within the scope of the voice profile that produced it.
• You may not attempt to resell raw access to the underlying model or repackage the studio itself as a competing product.

Voice cloning rules

The one place we do not bend.

• A voice may only be cloned by, or with the verified consent of, the person who owns it. Uploading a recording of someone else and claiming consent is a material breach.
• Cloned voices carry a scope declared by the voice owner. Using a cloned voice outside that scope - for example, running a voice cleared only for narration inside a political advertisement - is a breach.
• Cloned voices may not be used to impersonate real individuals in a way that could reasonably deceive a listener. This includes putting words into a real person's mouth without their consent, even if the voice is technically theirs.
• The voice owner can revoke consent at any time. Once revoked, no new audio can be generated with the voice. Past renders remain your responsibility to manage.

What you may not do

• Generate audio that impersonates a real person without documented consent from that person.
• Produce audio intended to defraud, harass, defame, or incite violence against any person or group.
• Circumvent the studio's usage caps or scope enforcement, or attempt to extract the underlying model weights.
• Use the studio to produce content that is illegal in the jurisdiction where it will be published.

Payment, minutes and cancellation

• Paid tiers are billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you pick. Minutes reset each billing cycle and do not roll over.
• Upgrades take effect immediately and are pro rated. Downgrades take effect from the next billing cycle.
• You can cancel at any time from the account page. Your account remains active until the end of the paid period.
• Refunds are not offered for minutes already consumed. Unused minutes in the current period are not refundable, but no future charges are made after cancellation.

Availability and support

• The studio aims for high availability but is not offered with a formal uptime guarantee on Creator or Pro tiers. Business tier customers can request a written service level agreement.
• Support response times per tier are described on the pricing page.
• Planned maintenance windows are communicated in advance through the studio and by email to workspace owners.

Liability

The studio is a tool. It is your responsibility to check the audio it produces before publishing it, particularly in high stakes settings like IVR, healthcare communications, and financial notifications. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Ending the agreement

• You can end the agreement any time by cancelling your account.
• We can suspend or end access to accounts that materially breach these terms, particularly the voice cloning rules. Where the breach is fixable, we contact you first.
• On termination, retention windows described in the privacy policy apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the appropriate Indian courts.
